Our Archway headquarters will be closed during the festive period, reopening on 3 January 2024. We understand that many women will still require mental health support during this critical time, and we’re here to highlight various resources to help you get through this season.
Online resources at The Maya Centre
We have a wealth of online resources via our blog for women struggling with various mental health issues and traumas, such as navigating loneliness, understanding rape culture and managing stress. You can also check out our Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook for more mental health information.
The Mind Crisis Café
Islington Mind will be running a support service during the holiday period through the Mind Crisis Café, which you can find at 48 Despard Road, N19 5NW, London. Designed to support Islington Residents who are at risk of crisis through the following services and activities:
- Social inclusion group: a space for individuals to connect with others and foster a sense of belonging within the community.
- Therapeutic activities: activities designed to promote emotional wellbeing and a sense of purpose.
- Emotional support: trained support workers and trainee therapists are available on-site every day to provide empathetic and confidential support to those in crisis.
- Crisis support: the crisis cafe is specifically equipped to offer immediate support to individuals in crisis, ensuring that they receive the care and assistance they need.
The festive season can be challenging for many. The availability of these services can make a significant difference in the lives of many. Please do not hesitate to use these resources if you feel they will help.
The Toy Project
Based in Archway, The Toy Project donates free new and used toys to children and organisations in need. The service is available throughout the year, with Christmas being a peak time. This is a perfect solution for those financially struggling or vulnerable in other ways.
