Get Involved

The Maya Centre is committed to providing free counselling to minoritised women on low incomes.

We are most grateful to those local people and organisations who generously support our charity, enabling us to give a lifeline to some of the most disadvantaged women in London.

There are many ways in which you can help us, please find more information below or contact us at

Donations are vital to our work, ensuring that we continue to offer a free, safe space for women at The Maya Centre. By donating to us directly, you join our community of supporters who want to see women’s mental health and wellbeing prioritised and championed.

There are a few ways in which you can do this:

  • Donate on a one-off or regular basis – click here to make a donation.
  • Donate through Amazon Smile.
  • Payroll Giving – an efficient and flexible way to give directly on a tax-free basis, check with your employer or pension provider.
  • Legacy Giving – leaving a gift in your will has the power to create a better future for vulnerable women in need of therapy.

Fundraise your own way

Do you enjoy a challenge?

We love working with community groups or larger corporates who want to fundraise for us via a sponsored run, cycle or bake-off – all ideas welcome!

We have some opportunities for volunteers to support our work:

  • Qualified, honorary counsellors and psychotherapists looking for experience working with violence against women and girls (VAWG) within an intercultural, women-only space
  • Student counsellors looking for placements within a women-for women, psychodynamic counselling service (minimum 2nd year Diploma course)
  • Other volunteering opportunities are advertised periodically on our website.
