Our mind-body therapies consist of Reflexology, Reiki, and holistic massage to support both your emotional and physical healing. Offered in up to 6 sessions after counselling, these sessions help you gently reconnect with your body, rebuild trust in yourself, and find a sense of calm and balance as you recover from difficult experiences.
Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy that has been practiced for thousands of years in Egypt, India, and China. In the West, it was first known as “zone therapy” before becoming today’s reflexology.
Reflexology uses pressure points on the feet, hands or ears that connect to different parts of the body. However, our therapist works on the feet only. Tension or tightness in the feet may reflect stress or imbalance elsewhere, and working on these points can help restore balance. Sometimes, past trauma stored in the body can be released during or after treatment. This may show up through dreams, resurfacing memories, or gradual emotional shifts. Healing can take time and usually requires a series of sessions.
Reflexology supports healing on the physical, mental, and emotional levels. But it is not necessary to speak about your trauma in order to benefit from reflexology. It also doesn’t claim to cure or diagnose, but it can help the body’s natural balance and has been found helpful for chronic pain, migraine, infertility, arthritis, sleep disorders, hormonal imbalances, skin problems, high blood pressure, anxiety issues, depression, phobias, broken sleep, and more.
A course of treatments usually brings more benefit than a single session, as the effects are accumulative and build over time.
For those who are carers, they have found it incredibly valuable to have the space to come and just “be”, relax for an hour, it is their time out.
Before starting, your therapist will talk with you about your health and lifestyle. During treatment, you’ll relax in a comfortable chair with a blanket, while gentle pressure is applied to your feet.
Each session is unique, and the therapy is tailored to your needs. Subtle changes in the feet can reflect shifts in your body, and you may notice improvements over several treatments.
Most women feel relaxed and calm after reflexology. Thinking becomes clearer they may be able to hone in on what they want to do next. Whether it is returning to talk therapy or doing something completely different.
Sometimes you might feel a little tired, cold, need the toilet more often, or have a mild headache. These are normal signs that your body is releasing toxins and starting to heal.
Energy Healing, also known as Reiki, is a gentle and holistic practice that works with the body’s natural energy systems. The word Reiki means “universal life energy.” A Reiki therapist channels this healing energy through their hands to help release blockages that may have formed in the body due to stress, trauma, or emotional pain.
These energy blockages can interrupt the natural flow within your body, often showing up as fatigue, anxiety, or tension. By tuning into your energy field and helping to clear these blockages, Reiki allows your body and mind to return to a natural state of balance and calm — known as homeostasis.
Reiki healing supports wellbeing on every level — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. It can help ease symptoms of anxiety, panic attacks, depression, OCD (obsessive compulsory disorders), PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), and other conditions linked to emotional distress or trauma.
Many people describe Reiki as deeply relaxing and nurturing. It can help you feel more centred, sleep better, and find a greater sense of peace. Over time, releasing blocked energy allows your body’s natural healing processes to strengthen, improving your overall sense of wellbeing.
During a Reiki session, you’ll usually lie or sit comfortably, fully clothed, in a peaceful space. The Reiki therapist will place their hands lightly on or just above different areas of your body, depending on what feels right for you.
Holistic massage therapy is based on the idea that the body, mind, and emotions are deeply connected. When one part of us feels tense or out of balance, it can affect how we feel in every other way. Through caring and skilled touch, holistic massage helps restore harmony within the whole person, not just the muscles, but also the mind and emotions.
Our therapist creates a safe, calm space where you can fully relax and reconnect with your body. This nurturing environment encourages your nervous system to slow down, helping your body move from stress to a state of rest and healing.
Holistic massage therapy can ease physical tension, reduce stress, and support emotional wellbeing. It can also help relieve aches and pains, improve circulation, and promote better sleep.
By calming the parasympathetic nervous system — the part of the body responsible for rest and recovery, massage helps you feel grounded and safe. Over time, this can reduce feelings of anxiety or overwhelm and strengthen your connection between body and mind.
Each massage is tailored to your personal needs and wellbeing goals. Our therapist uses an integrative approach, drawing from a range of techniques such as Swedish massage, gentle stretching, myofascial release, heat therapy, and rhythmic movements like rocking and holding.
Depending on what your body needs, our therapist may adjust the pressure, speed, or focus of the massage.
