What Our Trustees Bring to The Maya Centre

Our Trustees have knowledge and experience in psychiatry, HR and finance. Together, they make sure The Maya Centre is well-run, safe and continues to provide the best possible support for women’s mental health and wellbeing.

Here’s what they help with:

  • Our values and ethos – keeping our work guided by compassion, inclusion and empowerment.
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion – making sure The Maya Centre stays true to our promise of being anti-racist and against all forms of discrimination.
  • Policies and procedures – reviewing our policies every year to make sure everything is up to date and followed properly.
  • Safeguarding – checking that everyone is kept safe, that staff have the right training, and that we learn from any serious safeguarding issues.
  • Complaints and feedback – making sure women know how to share concerns or complaints, and that we listen carefully, learn and improve our services.

Our Trustee Subcommittees

To help The Maya Centre run smoothly, our Trustees also lead two subcommittees that meet every three months. These smaller groups look closely at key areas of our work to make sure everything is managed with care and transparency.

  • Clinical Governance Group (CGG) – This group oversees how our services are delivered, including our policies, safeguarding, and service delivery models.
  • Finance Subcommittee – This group looks after our charity’s finances and long-term sustainability.
