Happening in the Women’s Hub – October Highlights

October is a vibrant month at the Women’s Hub, packed with events that nurture connection, creativity, and cultural celebration. As part of this, we’re excited to highlight Black History Month with special activities and continue offering essential support for our diverse community.

Black History Month Events:

– “Is Your Hair Still Political?” – Saturday, 5th October, 2 PM – 5 PM, at the Maya Centre. This thought-provoking event features a film screening and open discussion on the cultural significance of Black hair. We recommend reading Audre Lorde’s *Is Your Hair Still Political?* to deepen your understanding.

– Hena and Cultural Day– 31st October (venue and time TBC). Join us to celebrate the end of Black History Month with henna art, food, music, and cultural conversations—a beautiful way to connect and appreciate the richness of Black culture.
